Cargo
Traders trained staff have successfully organised transport and logistics for
both international and local projects for various clients who have had unusual
freight, which has in turn required specialist-handling requirements. Some completed
project jobs are listed below.

When an offshore Oil Rig was brought into South Australian waters Cargo Traders
not only handled the customs clearance but prior to arrival we ammassed the
supplies, technical equipment, pipe, and various couplings from all over the
world.
The two ocean going tugs, the "FAR SWORD" and the "MAERSK BONAVISTA"
were used to ferry these supplies to the rig and fourteen arrival and departures
were recorded over a four day period. Cargo Traders booked the wharf, organised
labour, cranes and specialist equipment, booked pilots for the vessels, organised
communication equipment and coordinated the trucking of the supplies to the
wharf area.

Special pipe for the Oil Industry was handled by Cargo Traders when the bulk
carrier "IKAN TANDA" arrived in Port. Spreaders were used to ensure
there was no damage to the pipe. After assembling and surveying the pipe on
the wharf trucking and cranes were supplied and the pipe was moved to its final
staging area.

Export or Aircraft Towing Tractors was another project completed on behalf of
Bliss Engineering and the Malaysian Government. The Tractors were over width
and overlength and needed to be moved to Melbourne and shipped by Roll on /
Roll off vessel through to Port Klang. This was the start of several exports
handled for Bliss to various areas of the world. Each job was well co-ordinated,
smoothly executed and profitable for the exporter.

Special underwater piping for the Oil Refinery at Port Stanvac was imported
from Italy on 40' flat racks and cleared and delivered by the professional
team at Cargo Traders.

Charter Aircraft were used when scheduled commercial airlines could not keep
up with the volume of perishable cargo going to Hong Kong. The Aircraft, as
pictured, was a "stretch" DC8 with hash kits fitted and carried 90
tons of fresh rock melons from Darwin to Hong Kong. Cargo Traders were involved
from start to finish with this job and the proof of the shipment was fresh produce,
on time and in perfect condition.

Close on $A500, 000 worth of motor vehicles was landed in Adelaide at the Outer
Harbour Terminal and the formalities of Australian Customs and Australian Quarantine
had to be completed. Vehicles were moved off the discharge wharf for container
unpacking, examination and detailing. The importation of the vehicles was of
a temporary nature and specialist customs clearance processes were performed.

In December 2000, the city of Adelaide hosted the final round of the Asia Pacific
Le Mans car race. International customs and quarantine clearance as well as
cargo logistics for team vehicles, equipment and spare parts was performed. This
project presented a very demanding schedule of tasks to ensure that all teams
had their vehicles and equipment in a very narrow time frame window. Our staff
worked around the clock to meet the required deadlines.
After completion of the race all the work carried out had to be duplicated in
reverse and air and sea freighted to the next destination.
Our portfolio of clients includes machinery dealers who cater for the manufacturing
industry. To keep up with technology these manufacturers purchase large metal
and woodworking machines, most of which are usually over the normal dimensions
of a shipping container. We are able to recommend a suitable shipping service
from the
origin of the freight, right up to delivery to the manufacturer's door using
our network of overseas agents.
