This wholly Australian owned company first opened its operation in Adelaide on December 16th 1993 to service the needs of the South Australian importers. The original operation of the company was to promote and handle consolidated containers from the east and west coast of the USA. Through controlled expansion we now cater Australia wide for the requirements of both Importers and Exporters for Air Freight, Sea Freight and Customs Clearance to and from all areas of the world.


From our first month of operation where we handled 22 shipments, we now handle over 800 shipments per month, to and from all points of the world.
The electronic era has changed the face of business for Importers and Exporters and through the use of latest technology we can efficiently support and service our clients needs in every city in Australia.


Importers can take advantage of consolidated sea freight containers from the USA, UK, Belgium, Taiwan, Hong Kong and China, as well as regular LCL (less than container load) and FCL (full container load) cargo from all major ports of the world to Australia. Air freight imports are also handled promptly and efficiently through our expansive worldwide network.

The service and reliability we have gained by carefully selecting overseas principals and agents has proved beneficial to our Australian Importers, and this is reflected in the rapid growth in the market share of Cargo Traders SA Pty Ltd.

Customs clearance is handled by our team of experienced Customs Brokers who can provide value added services such as landed costings and tariff advice. The co-ordination of the final delivery receives a high priority to give our clients the best possible result.

We are Members of CBFCA (Customs Brokers and Forwarders Council of Australia) and hold AQIS (Australian Quarantine) Compliance.

The Exporters of Australia can also enjoy benefits through our prompt, personalized service where our experienced staff use their considerable knowledge and training to provide the most timely and cost effective solution for both air and sea exports ranging from express documents to multiple shipping containers and perishable air freight.

All major airline Air Waybills are available through our IATA (International Air Transport Association) licence. Our staff are fully qualified and accredited for handling Dangerous Goods, and we are also Airline Security Regulated. Membership is also held with AFIF (Australian Federation of International Freight Forwarders) to ensure that we and our clients are kept up to date on international and local developments.
